The Quiet Days

The Quiet Days

March 2024 - Corran Ban (Ice Storm)

There’s so many voices, clanging on like bells

Hard to be like Thoreau, thinking for yourself

Give me something sturdy, not the latest craze

Dwelling on the Quiet Days

Engines hide the echoes of a trotting horse

Ripping down the back roads, showing no remorse

Did the little sounds have something big to say?

Dwelling on the Quiet Days

Lift the shell to your ear

Tell me what you hear

Tap the long forgotten tree

Let the sap flow free

All the ghostly fables came from subtle sounds

Every creak and wind gust, out of earshot now

Used to let imagination out to play

Dwelling on the Quiet Days

Lift the shell to your ear

Tell me what you hear

Tap the long forgotten tree

Let the sap flow free

There’s a battle for attention going on

With no time for details, it would take too long

Wonder what the bards of old would have to say?

Dwelling on the Quiet Days
