Fiddler's Fortune

Fiddler’s Fortune

An ode to the slot machine game “Fiddler’s Fortune”

I’m a rambler

I’m a gambler

Fiddler’s fortune is what I play

Though I keep spinning

I’m never winning

And yet the fiddler gets his pay

The fire is blazing

The stakes are raising

Could this be my lucky spin?

The ones that mock me

Won’t be so cocky

When my riches come rolling in

Lights are flashing

Trumpets blasting

Boys I’m in the money now

Sure I could cash out

Go home and pass out

But I’d rather stick around

A couple more spins

My endorphins

Have me glued upon the chair

I push the buttons

‘Til I’ve got nothing

The fiddler doesn’t seem to care
